Wishlist of Unreleased Songs

rob (Admin) on at 9:59 PM
I've added a new feature which allows you to add in and create a wish list of unreleased songs. Once your song is added, others can add that song to their wish list as well. This can give us a pulse of what the most wanted songs are to be in rock band! You can manage your songs by hovering over the "Manage" link in the menu and going to "Unreleased Songs". From there, you can add songs to your wishlist or submit new ones.

You view a full list of everyone's unreleased songs here: http://myrockbandsongs.com/unreleased-songs/

Awesome new feature Rob! I don't think this site can get any better. Wow.

I liked it so much I made my donation today :)

Awesome, glad you enjoy it! Thank you!

It's great, but there's kind of a split.

One form of the page shows user names, but doesn't let you flag or wishlist songs, then the other has those two things but no user names.

Also, a counter to see how many comments there are on each song would be kinda cool, if that's possible

Just added like 8-10 more songs. Just ones off the top of my head. Going now to add more. Why, they keep popping up in my head. Good way to waste time.

I've had a running playlist in iTunes for several months now of songs I've wanted to see in the game. With nothing else to do this morning, I just listened to it while submitting all 48 songs to the list.

:D

Awesome! I can't wait to take some time to go through everyone's submissions... I've already found some new music from that list that I've either forgotten about, or never heard of that I like!
rob (Admin) on at 8:12 PM
@WhiteCarnation I've added a comment count after the song name now. I've also added this on the main listing of songs, so you can easily tell if it has comments or not!

Rob - why dont you add functionality to have new entries added to the Official Rock Band request page? Er... there's CAPCHA isn't there... hmmm maybe that wont work.
rob (Admin) on at 11:51 PM
@mprachar You are correct... I can't post to that page since it has a captcha on it. I also doubt rockband.com accepts POST requests from domains outside rockband.com for security reasons... So I can't automatically do it. But yea I would suggest posting to both :)

Adding songs as I am board at college. should be around 20 when I finish just for today.

I'm guessing that Weezer - Beverly Hills was on the list previously? Because after seeing today's announcement from Harmonix, I logged on to add it to my Wish List I found that it was already checked. For several minutes I couldn't decide if I had really lost my mind....or if someone else had my login and just happened to pick the one song I wanted....or if the site made some sort of educated guess based on previous purchases. (Ok, I know its all crazy but I haven't had my coffee yet....give me a break) Then it finally occurred to me. That was on the Unreleased Wish List previously....and got moved over to the real, announced wish list and was automatically selected. So very very cool. Is that the first song to make the move? If not, how many have made the jump? Might be cool just to keep track of how many songs make the big move from dream to DLC.

Thanks again Rob. Look for another donation in your Christmas stocking this holiday season

Your not going crazy, it definitely was on the list! Along with 20 other users :). I have a check when I'm adding new songs, so it checks the unreleased wishlist, and I can flag a song as "Already Released" (anyone can do this in case I miss one if the spelling is different). Then I can select the song that was released, and it'll add it to your real wishlist. Glad you enjoyed this feature! :)

Currently I don't have a list of ones that were already released (I think 3 so far), but I'll definitely look at making a list of those songs, or perhaps keeping them in the main listing but denoting that they are now released and disabling the ability to add it to your unreleased wishlist.

Thanks for your support, I appreciate it greatly! :)

(new to the site)
this is a great idea, Rob. I just wish there was a way to "advertise" that this site exists to devout rock band players, that way you can find people to play with that don't always download the mainstream DLC. Nobody downloads country, it seems, and as the vocalist for my band, the Mayhem Pack made my ears bleed--I only did it for the rest of my band to win high scores.
You think Harmonix will listen to this site as far as taking suggestions for DLC into consideration? I've been listing them on their (insert word here) website rockband.com forever, and haven't seen anything that I like put up. Do you think this will make a difference?
We can only hope so, huh?
rob (Admin) on at 12:11 PM
Welcome to the site! I try to advertise it and bring it up in conversation on forums across the web when necessary... but there is only so much I can do. Word of mouth from everyone who uses the site also exposes it. So bring it up in conversation whenever you can if you visit the rock band forums (or any other forums) :).

I would love it if rockband.com displayed the information like it is on this site. I know that is the official portal for people to post their wanted songs, but it really just seems to go into a black hole. They don't publicly display the information, and we have no way to gauge if the top wanted songs are actually being released or not.

So in turn, that is why I created this, so we can get a better idea of what everyone wants. I'm hoping this makes a difference... but if not, at least we can have fun and see what everyone wishes for :)

Ok, "Never Going To Give You Up" is near the top.

I am guilty of asking for it.

This site is useful, informative, fun and a great way of finding people to play with if you're sick of playing the regular Rockband tracks like me!
Love the way you can keep track of all your dlc AND submit a wishlist too.
Hope this site grows in popularity ... It's exactly what we've been waiting for - keep up the good work!
